Hardwood Stairs Refinishing

a brown hardwood stairs
Hardwood stairs can sometimes be tricky to take care of. In many cases, they end up going through a lot more wear and tear than regular floors just based on the fact that you’re going to tend to exert more weight on them. Therefore, it’s not uncommon to see a bit more issues. You also have to take into account the rails that typically end up being a part of these stairs. Those are also commonly getting loose and giving people trouble. We can help you with all of those potential problems.

All Around Repairs

As we mentioned many times stairs end up being exposed to a bit more wear and tear. Therefore, it’s essentially natural that you’re going to need some more help in this area. If you want to know more about the way that we handle repairs you can visit that specific page on the site. In large we try and make sure that we are able to reinforce the floors without making it look like everything has been patched up with poor looking wood. With stairs avoiding that patched up looking can actually be less of a problem than what we see in regular flooring.

Hand Rail Issues

Sometimes you don’t notice that you’re walking on old stairs until you try and grab onto the handrail. When you do and you feel that putting more of your weight on it is not safe, that can certainly be a scary moment. Most of these issues though are not overly complex to fix. What we would say the main problem is, is that people put off getting them fixed until they are at a very dangerous point. If that’s your case be sure to give us a call quickly. If that’s not your case you may still want to call to avoid getting to this point.

No Repairs Just Refinishing

If we don’t find any type of problem with your stairs that we feel needs to be repaired per se, then we can just go on ahead, start sanding, and then recoating the area. We’ve mentioned time and time again, that a lot of our services go hand in hand. This doesn’t mean though that every floor that we encounter is essentially going to highly benefit from the full service. We can make sure that we only apply chemicals or procedures that are going to be beneficial to the floor at a particular time.

How Often Should You Give Your Stairs A Hard Look?

It’s probably a good idea to look into refinishing or doing some work on your stairs about every couple of years. Usually restaining for example is something that you’ll have to look into every 4 or 5 years. With stairs, it’s a good idea though to at least have them inspected to make sure that there are not loose planks or railing issues. If you spot any yourself be sure to give us a call quickly to not put yourself at risk.
