Hardwood Floor Sanding

Sanding is one of the most basic procedures that can be done to care for hardwood. Yet, many folks shy away from it a bit because they fear that sanding hardwood floors is going to completely remove the natural flair that their floors had. The results that you can get from sanding are highly influenced by the way that you’re actually getting the job done. We have all of the necessary machinery to be able to sand large areas effectively and in a relatively short amount of time. At the same time, we are not afraid to go the manual route if need be.

A Clean & Thorough Process

We know that when you book a service you want to see the results in a short amount of time. There are things though, that will ultimately look better if you get them done carefully. With sanding, we follow a process to make sure that we are always able to achieve the best results. First, we are going to make sure that the floors are perfectly clean, from there, we are going to start doing some light sanding and work our way up in intensity. This is a process that we’ve followed for years, and it has been highly efficient for us.

A Big Part Of Many Procedures

If you’ve read through many of the pages on the site, we may sound like a broken record at this point. The fact is though, that sanding is usually part of a larger restoration procedure. We usually don’t re-stain without sanding. Of course, we are not just going to sand your floors and have no other type of finish in mind. It’s not like you are going to have to worry about paying an exuberant cost or having sanding make your budget go through the roof.

How Often Should You Be Looking Into Sanding?

It depends on what you’re looking to do. For the most part, sanding is something that you should be looking into when you have a particular idea in mind. That idea is usually a repair or some type of refinishing procedure. You’re probably not going to be looking into sanding if you don’t have another idea in mind. At the same time, we need to make sure that we are following a proper sanding procedure. If we get that down there is a good chance that it’ll lead to good results.

How We Determine The Intensity Of The Sanding Procedure Needed

Excessive sanding is something that many folks are a bit afraid of. At least, it has been a recurring concern that people have brought to us over the years. When we are performing a sanding procedure we are looking for a particular result. To get there we sometimes have to have the patience to be able to work our way up in intensity. Therefore, it’s unlikely that we’ll start out with a very aggressive sanding procedure. We’ll work our way up and the results will dictate the need to go up another level or not.
